Ex Kotoko player Ntow Gyan slams club’s management in sacking Jordan Opoku

Former Asante Kotoko player Ntow Gyan have questioned the club’s decision in putting Jordan Opoku on transfer adding that the player is better than the current recruited players.

Ahead of the 2015/16 league season the Kumasi-based club axed close to ten players which include midfielder Jordan Opoku.

However, the dethroned league champions went in for twelve players to fill in the vacuum created ahead of the season tentatively scheduled to come off on the 10th January, 2016.

But Ntow Gyan who featured for Asante Kotoko in the 1990’s has questioned the club’s decision in sacking Jordan Opoku.

‘Why should Kotoko put a player like Jordan Opoku on transfer and go in for players who don’t have the quality to play for the club,’ he told Hot FM in Accra.

“It is true that every coach has the kind of players he wants but some players are universal. Just like Iniesta, Jordan is versatile and every coach must be able to use him. It is bad to transfer such a player.”

Jordan Opoku is suffering the sack from the Porcupine Warriors for the second time after he was released by the club in 2010 which saw him in the camp of  Berekum Chelsea.

He rejoined the club after an impressive outing with the Berekum-based club in the 2011 CAF Chamions League.
