Ayew, in final list for CAF player of the year

Accra, Dec. 14, GNA – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has shortlisted Ghana’s Andre Ayew alongside Yaya Toure (Manchester City) and Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang (Borossia Dortmund) as the final three of the 2015 Glo-CAF Awards.

Ayew faces a stiff competition from Toure, who was voted BBC’s Africa player of the year and Aubameyang, who has been influential for his club and Gabon.

In the Women Player of the year category, Portia Boakye, whose late goal ensured Ghana won Gold at the 2015 All Africa Games held in Congo Brazzaville was selected alongside Gabrielle Ongunne (Cameroon), Gaelle Enganamouit, (Cameroon), Ngozi Ebere (Nigeria) and N’rehy Tia Ines (Cote D’Ivoire, to vie for the award

Ghana’ Yaw Yeboah (Lille France) has been included in the nominees for the Youth Player award.

The other categories are, Women Player of the Year, Youth Player of the Year, Most Promising Talent, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, African Legend, National Team of the Year, Women National Team of the Year, Club of the Year, Platinum Award.

The winners will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, January 7, next year in Abuja, Nigeria. Monday, in Abuja, Nigeria.

The winners will be decided by votes from the CAF Football land Media Committees except Legend and Platinum awards, which are not subject to vote while Referee of the Year Award will be decided by the votes of CAF Refereeing Committee
