Premier League side, New Edubiase United are closing in on Asante Kotoko outcast Latif Amadu, sources close to the Bekwai-based club have revealed.

Latif was axed by the dethroned league champions ahead of the 2015/16 league season after spending only one season at the Kumasi-based club.

However, New Edubiase who escaped relegation at the last hour by beating Heart of Lions 4-2 in the last Premier League game are inches away from securing the signature of the Kotoko outcast.

After losing the services of mercurial midfielder Latif Anabilah and the Nuhu brother, the Bekwai-based club is working fervently around the clock to build a formidable side for the upcoming season.

A source close to the team disclosed to GHANAsoccernet.com that the club has started negotiating with the former Chelsea striker as an deal looks imenent in the coming weeks.

‘Latif is a free player now and we are filling the vacuum that has been created by the Nuhu brother as well as Anabilah. There are other players whose contracts have also run out.’

‘We can’t go into the season without strengthening the team. We think Latif can be a great addition to our side. We have already started negotiating with him and are hopeful that he will sign soon,’ the source disclosed.
