Ashanti Gold midfielder Joseph Ato Bissah has frankly told Starr Sports the Miners are not fully prepared to play Bejaia in the CAF Champions League campaign.

The Miners are Ghana’s sole representatives in Africa’s flagship club competition following their domestic success last season.

According to the experienced midfielder, their fitness is suspicious ahead of their clash against the Algerian club in the first preliminary round of the Champions League.

“For me the preparation is not enough and think we lack competitive games, especially when the league has also delayed which is a major factor,” Ato told Starr Sports.

“The league’s commencement would have sharpened the team’s rough edges ahead of the clash next year. Even yesterday we were in Swedru to play Swedru Professionals and the fans were not too pleased with the team”.

Ashgold will host Bejaia at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in the first leg tie which will be played between 12, 13, 14 February 2016.
