PNC Congress: Hassan Ayariga shares freebies to delegates [Photos]

A presidential candidate aspirant of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Hassan Ayariga has been accused of engaging in vote buying at the party’s national delegates congress underway in Wa in the Upper West Region.

Mr. Ayariga who failed in his first attempt to win the presidential elections in 2012 on the ticket of the PNC is alleged have shared freebies to delegates in a bid to convince them to re-elect him as the party’s flag bearer for the 2016 election.

He is said to have distributed items such as mobile phones, cash amounts, motorcycles among others.

Delegates of the PNC have currently converged in Wa to elect executives to lead the party.

A total of 1,536 delegates are expected to take part in the exercise.

Meanwhile some delegates have begun leaving the grounds for the congress because of the delay in commencement of the exercse.

Most of them were seen loitering in the Wa Township in search of food.

It’s unclear exactly when the congress will start since the party’s National Executives Council is holding a crunch meeting before the commencement of the programme.

Personnel from the Ghana Police service and officials of the Electoral Commission  are present at the congress ground.
