AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that they will release one player next month to give them the chance to sign Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The suspended Ghana international is set to return to Serie A side after cancelling his contract with German giants Schalke.

This paves the way for Boateng to join AC Milan with no cost of a transfer fee for the Serie A side just two years after leaving the club.

With an agreement already in place for them to sign Boateng, the Serie A club say they must release a player before the Ghanaian joins due to the size of Milan’s squad at the moment.

“In terms of the transfer market, we have 28 players and Boateng in our sights,” said the AC Milan vice president Galliani.

“If Boateng comes then we will have 29, and someone must leave because there are so many.” he continued.

AC Milan are currently eighth in the table of the Italian top-flight league, the Serie A.
