CAF announces opponents for Ghanaian Champions Ashantigold, Medeama

Ghana Premier League Champions, Ashantigold will face Algerian side M.O Bejaia in the Preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League competition.

This was announced at the draw for the preliminary round of the 2016 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup which was conducted on Friday, 11 December 2015 in Dakar, Senegal.

Ashgold will host the Algerian club side at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in the first leg tie which will be played between 12, 13, 14 February 2016.

They will then travel to Algeria for the return leg which has been scheduled between 26, 27, 28 February 2016.

The winner of the two-legged tie will then advance to the 1/16 stage where they could face the winner of the match between Tunisia’s Club Africain and A.S. Tanda of Cote D’Ivoire.

Meanwhile Ghana FA Cup Champions Medeama SC who have drawn bye in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup, will face the winner of the match between Ittihad of Lybia and AS Sonidep of Niger in the 1/16th clash.

Medeama will go away for the first leg which will be played between 11, 12, 13 March 2016 before hosting their opponents in the return leg between 18, 19, 20 March 2016.
