The exchange of harsh words between head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Kenichi Yatsuhashi and team manager Sabahn Quaye nearly disrupted the team’s training session on Monday.
The duo traded insults during the team’s briefing prior to training after a disappointing 1-4 defeat to WAFA over the weekend, a source to the team disclosed.
Coach Kenichi forced Mr Quaye to cut short his pep talk to the players on grounds that the team manager was handling the team with kids’ gloves.
The Japanese trainer, who was harsh in his delivery following the below average performance of the team, expected the other members of the technical team to follow suit.
A source close to the Rainbow Family told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS that the team manager’s soft approach angered Coach Kenichi, who instructed the former to shut up.
Mr Quaye replied in like manner, raising temperatures until players and other officials stepped in to separate the two.
The source added that last Monday’s brawl was the second between the two.
That, he said, influenced the team’s decision to reassign Quaye as the Logistics Officer.
Quaye, a power house of the Phobians’ bench, returned to the club in 2014 after a romance with Liberty Professionals.
