Europa Preview: Liverpool, Tottenham to play for pride, Dortmund eye top spot

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has travelled with the Reds for their final Europa League group game at Sion following a hamstring injury.

The Brazil international has missed four matches but returned to training before the squad flew to Switzerland.

Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and Alberto Moreno have not made the trip, while Jordon Ibe is missing through illness.

Striker Daniel Sturridge has already been ruled out for several weeks with a hamstring strain.

Liverpool are already assured of their place in the last 32 and will finish top of Group B with a draw.

Sion, who are currently sixth in the Swiss Super League, need a point to join the Reds in the knockout phase.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane may be rested for their final Europa League group game against Monaco on Thursday.

Spurs, who have already qualified for the last 32, will secure top spot in Group J with a draw at White Hart Lane.

Midfield pair Nacer Chadli (ankle) and Nabil Bentaleb (foot) are back in the squad after injury, but fellow midfielder Mousa Dembele is ill.

Academy graduates Ryan Mason and Alex Pritchard (both ankle) remain unavailable.

Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to snatch top spot in Group C when they host PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday.

The German team find themselves behind FC Krasnodar on the head-to-head record between the teams after losing 1-0 to the Russian club last time out in Europe.

Both sides have already qualified for the knockout stages, so Dortmund need to better Krasnodar’s result against Qabala if they are to grab first place.

Since the 1-0 defeat at Kuban Stadium, Thomas Tuchel’s side have won back-to-back games in the Bundesliga, including a dramatic 2-1 triumph at Wolfsburg on Saturday.
