Promoting the league: GFA member: Give the money to clubs instead of musicians

The dethroned Central Regional FA chairman, MNS Doe believes splashing money on musicians to help promote the Ghana Premier League is not the way out to bring supporters back to the various league centres.

Attendance has been going down in the Ghana Premier League due to reasons like frequent move abroad by local players to seek greener pastures, inadequate sponsorship for the league, poor marketing of the league, etc.

And the Ghana Football Association in its quest to reverse the situation recently announced that they have reached an agreement with hip-life musicians like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale to perform before the start of league matches as a way to attract spectators.

However, MNS Doe thinks the association should invest such monies in the clubs instead of the musicians.

‘If the musicians will perform for free at the various league centres, then I don’t have any problem, but if they are going to be paid, then such monies should be given to the clubs instead,’ he told Hot FM.
