Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris has debunked reports that he has taken alcoholic drink insisting he is a Muslim and do not take alcoholic drinks.
Waris who posted the food and drink he was eating on his twitter handled was taken on by followers who insinuated that he was taking an alcoholic drink.
Responding to the allegation, Majeed Waris exclusively told Ghanasoccernet.com that he was misunderstood by a friend who thought that he was taking an alcoholic drink.
“I put a picture of my food and Malta Guiness on my twitter page. So one of my friends who is a journalist thought it was alcoholic drink. Because he knew I don’t drink, he said I have changed. I told him it’s a non-alcoholic,” Waris said.
Waris has been out of action for close to a month after suffering suspension from the French Football Federation following his ‘kung fu’ tackle in their 2-2 draw game against Guingamp.
