Hearts of Oak have officially terminated the contract of midfielder Emmanuel Hayford for lack of commitment and indiscipline.
A club statement read: “Emmanuel Hayford has been sacked for lack of commitment and indiscipline he has displayed towards the technical team and colleague player since last season a virtue Accra Hearts of Oak upholds really highly.”
The former Amidaus Professionals midfielder joined the Phobians two-years ago under David Duncan alongside forward Selasie Adjei in a move which was expected spur the Phobians to glory.
However, his time at the club has been blighted by injury causing Hayford to consistently miss matches for the Phobians.
Hayford played 36 matches for the Phobians in these two seasons.
Meanwhile, the player has taken to social media to express his disappointment at the turn of events but was full of praise for the Hearts fans who stood by him through thick and thin.
On his facebook account he posted:
“How can a player whose aim is to play and reach the highest level fake injuries for himself whiles he knows perfectly well that it is a bad attitude? Everyone has inside them a piece of good news. The good news is you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can be loved! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is. Thanks to all my fans and the Hearts of Oak supporters for their love and support. I will forever be the Emmanuel Hayford I am .God knows best so I leave everything to Him.”
