The chairman of Bechem United, Kingsley Osei Bonsu, has revealed the club are set to embark on a training tour to Saudi Arabia ahead of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League season.

Bechem finished last season on the 12th position, two places and a single point above the relegation drop, and are looking to bounce back with a convincing outing.

“We have decided to go for a pre-season training tour in Saudi Arabia to prepare for the new season,” Bonsu told Atinka FM.

“All things being equal, we will leave on December 20. We will face some clubs in the Saudi Arabian League and also play a mini tournament.”

The 2015-16 league season, expected to kick off on December 20, has been hit with a host of setbacks including legal challenges and sponsorship issues. This has led to reports that the championship would not commence on the expected date.

And according to the club chief, the side could continue their training exercise to another foreign destination should the start of the local topflight remain unresolved.

“We have not yet decided on our trip to Europe but if the league delays, then we will continue to Europe,” Bonsu added.

The Brong Ahafo side have also been in the transfer market for new acquisitions and in November announced the signing of five new players including Emmanuel Allan Skido, Akwasi Acheampong, Daniel Nana Bonsu, Abdullah Issahaku and Bismark Akaminko.
