Mutual consent: Goalkeeper Joseph Addo: I wasnt sacked by Kotoko

The former shot-stopper for the Porcupine warriors has rubbished reports claiming he was declared surplus to requirement by the club.

Joseph Addo until the arrival of Eric Ofori Antwi last season was the first choice goalkeeper for Asante Kotoko, but lost his place to the ex-Amidaus goalkeeper and the inclusion of Ernest Sowah and Felix Annan, who returned from a successful loan spell with WAFA last season will intensify the competition.

Joseph Addo has now switched camp from Kotoko to Aduana Stars, where he completed a 2 year deal.

Although there have reports that the Kumasi based club declared Addo as surplus to requirement due to the arrival of Sowah and Annan, the former Heart of Lions goalkeeper who joined Kotoko last two season says he requested for his move and the club endorsed it.

‘I wasn’t put on transfer by Kotoko, but it was through mutual agreement with the management of the club, he told Hot FM.

Addo at Aduana Stars will face tough competition from the already established goalkeeper for the Dormaa based side, Stephen Adams.
