The Ghana FA says it will set a date for the commencement of the 2015/16 Premier League season only, after all, outstanding legal issues are cleared.

Premier League clubs have been left in a limbo over when the new season will begin with clear signals the tentative December 20th date already out of the window.

The promotion of Dreams FC and Techiman City FC into the Ghanaian top flight is still being challenged, making it impossible for the GFA to give a definite timeline for the start of the league.

“”We have to wait for all the outstanding legal cases to be sorted before we can be absolutely certain about the start of the league,” GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara said.

This is the second time this level of uncertainty has hit the football fraternity over the start of the Ghana league due to litigation.

King Faisal are still in court trying to get their demotion from the top flight after the 2013/14 season reversed.

The commencement of their court case against the GFA held up the start of the Ghanaian top flight for over six months.

And with Dreams FC’s promotion now being challenged at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), the 2015/16 season is set to experience perhaps even a longer delay.
