Sam Johnson has indicated that his former club, Hearts of Oak have turned into a laughing stock due to their poor run of form.
Hearts of Oak beat relegation on the last day of the league through the application of the head to head rule.
Despite the change of technical hands, the team is still struggling to take shape in the pre-season under the Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi and their 4-1 defeat against WAFA last week Saturday has increased the tension in the team ahead of the 2015-16 season.
Sam Johnson who was an integral part of the Hearts of Oak team in the early 1990’s has added his voice to the ongoing crisis the club is facing stating that he feels shy to be associated with the club, but hope things get back to normal.
‘I feel shy being a former Hearts of Oak player, because of the state of the club at the moment. Hearts once brought joy to their faithful, but the team’s performance is nothing to write home about.
‘I am calling on the current leaders of the club to help rectify the situation,’ he told Atinka FM.
Sam Jonson affectionately called Fooyo also played for the Black Stars in the 1990’s.
