TV3 New Day host, Ama K. Abebrese, has expressed aversion over events that led to the loss of her co-host, Nana Aba Anamoah.

Anamoah, who also led the sports desk of the station and hosted the ‘Diva’ show on TV3 was suspended following an alleged involvement in an “online information and photo theft”.

The station described her actions as unprofessional and asked her to take the back bench for a while.

But in a letter dated Nov. 2, 2015, to the management of TV3, Anamoah told the TV station she would not be returning from her suspension.

In the letter, the publicly ridiculed News anchor and show host expressed abhorrence over the station’s ability to engrave what has now become one of the most famous scandals in Ghanaian TV history.

“I, find the decision by the management and board of TV3 to suspend me rather disappointing and a sign of ingratitude from an organisation that I have committed twelve years of my adult life to” she stated in her resignation letter.

But speaking in an interview with Nii Arday Clegg on Morning Starr on Wednesday, Ama K said the whole incident took her by surprise.

“A lot of it I found very surprising,” Ama K. said.

She said she did not expect management of the TV station to make such a big deal out of the occurrence.

“But then it just kept escalating and escalating.”

The ‘Double Cross’ producer, however, said she is happy for her former co-host and friend for rising above.

“Sometimes the worst situations in life make you grow stronger. She brushed it off her shoulder and rose above and she is just going to keep rising and rising,” she told Clegg.

Meanwhile, Benny Blanco, also a former co-host of the New Day said the Network acted ruthlessly.

“I personally think the public ridicule was just too much. Everybody called for her head and they decided to deliver.”

Anamoah has now been employed by EIB Networks’ GHOne TV.

She will be joining Bola Ray on Starr Chat on 103.5FM this evening.
