Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has poured chilled water on the tongue wagging that he is not committed to the cause of the national team and that he is not patriotic.
Kwarasey since launching a verbal attack on Black Stars goalkeeper’s trainer Nassam Yakubu during the Brazil 2014 World Cup, has been absent for national duty.
His consistent no show, the recent being his failure to honour the Ghana-Canada friendly due to club assignment, has fuelled allegation that the Norway-born Ghanaian is not patriotic.
Bu responding to the claims on Social Media, the US-based goalkeeper said, ‘Who says am not committed?’
Request for his return to the national team soared when he emerged as the Best Save MLS Award winner in the American top flight league last Thursday.
Indications are that Kwarasey will return to the Black Stars fold on condition that trainer Yakubu lay down his tools.
Black Stars coach Avram Grant in a press conference last week, cleared the air that he has no personal grudge with the former Stromsgodset key performer.
Until the Brazil showpiece, Kwarasey was Ghana’s choicest goalkeeper, after taking over from veteran Richard Kingson.
He was in charge in the Ghana-US opening game, but had to watch the remaining group games against Germany and Portugal from the bench.
