Radio personality, Joe Bennet, known in showbiz as Don K has opined that Ghanaian Hiplife artistes, Reggie Zippy of “Virgin” fame and Bollie of “Kiss the Bride” fame who are currently contestants in the ongoing TV reality show in the UK, ‘UK XFactor’ are a disgrace to the Ghanaian music industry.
He revealed this on the “Metro Mix” (Mid-morning show) on ATL FM 100.5MHz in Cape Coast.
According to the ATL FM presenter, the UK XFactor is a Talent Hunt reality show, meanwhile, Reggie Zippy has about three albums and Bollie also had one hit song(Kiss the bride), so to him, he expect them to perform on bigger platforms, rather than competing with a group of teenagers in the UK.
“I would like to see them at the Apollo Theater, I would like to see them perform at big places in UK and US than for them to go into a contest, a Talent Hunt show!”, he said in disappointment.
Don K said he is also disappointed in the NPP Flag bearer, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo, and Akwasi Aboagye of Peace Fm for encouraging the boys.
“Listening to what Akwasi Aboagye said. Listening to what Akufo Addo is saying that he is urging them or giving them moral support, for me, I think it’s wack”.
He added that there is no way American Singer, Beyoncé will contest in TV3 Mentor music reality Show. And it is more heartbreaking to even see them dance in the competition, therefore Reggie and Bollie are a joke.
