Hay HrtsEx-Hearts of Oak forward Emmanuel Hayford

Forward Emmanuel Hayford has denied claims by Hearts of Oak of always feigning injury to avoid playing in big games.

The playmaker has been sacked from the club over claims he showed no commitment and was indiscipline during his two-year stay with the club.

Hearts also accused the former Amidaus Professionals player of feigning injury especially when the big games come around.

But the attacking midfielder has denied all these claims, referring to several instances where he had to play through the pain barrier for the love of the club.

“The rumoured charge is that I was always feigning injury,” he told Happy FM.

“How can a player wish injury on himself?

“It is an outrageous charge considering all that I have gone through at Hearts.

“I played through the pain barrier at times for Hearts because of the love I have for the club.”

Emmanuel Hayford joined Hearts of Oak in 2013 in a double swoop by the Phobians also involving Selassie Adjei.

His time with the Accra-based club was however fraught with several injury setbacks and has now been sacked from the club over claims he was not committed.
