Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has been cleared of all charges of rape and sodomy by the Attorney General, according to his lawyer Kissi Adjabeng.
Gyan was accused by a 22-year-old university student, Sarah Kwablah for allegedly raping and sodomizing her after the two had an affair in February this year.
The camp of Gyan who has been quiet on the issue since the development broke their silence Tuesday morning at a news conference in Accra to set the record straight.
“Gyan cooperated with the Police throughout their investigation and their investigation has come to an end.
“We were called to the headquarters of the CID and informed that after a careful study of the docket, the Attorney General has concluded the rape and unnatural canal knowledge made by Sarah Kwablah against Asamoah Gyan are totally baseless.
“The docket must be closed, in plain language Asamoah Gyan has been cleared of all allegations by Kwablah,” Adjabeng told journalists in Accra.
