Relegation looming: Ex-Hearts board member Fawaz Zowk predicts doom for the club

Ex Hearts of Oak Board member, Alhaji Fawaz Zowk has predicted doom for the club, saying they might get relegated next season.

The Phobians for the past seasons have been a laughing stock, and they nearly got relegated after finishing last season’s league at the 13th position with only slim goal difference over 14th placed team Heart of Lions.

Ahead of the upcoming season, the board and management of the club have been heavily criticized by some old directors and fans of the club over their managerial style.

And Alhaji Fawaz who was part of Hearts of Oak board that took Africa by storm by winning the CAF champions league in 2000 and Confederation cup in 2004 has predicted doom for the Accra giants stating that they might be relegated next season.

‘Looking at the way things are going, you don’t need a rocket scientist to tell you Hearts is heading towards relegation. Last season we were just two goals away from relegation and that is dangerous,’ he told Otec FM in Kumasi.

He added: ‘What we should have done is to start putting proper measures in place for the coming league. But unfortunately, the team is not even recruiting. No properly constituted management and the board lacks direction. So we are heading towards only one direction. And I am afraid we may be relegated next season.’
