Good Strategy: Reggie Rockstone endorses GFA-collaboration with musicians to promote GPL

Reggie Rockstone believes the Ghana Football Association (GFA) quest to improve attendance in the various Ghana Premier League (GPL) centres by using music artistes is the best way to go.

Attendance at Premier League matches has been appalling over the years mainly due to the lacking presence of established and exciting players.

The President of the GFA recently revealed that the association has signed an agreement with topnotch musicians like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, etc to perform at premier league venues.

And Reggie Rockstone a renowned hip-life artiste has endorsed the idea of the GFA to link up with musicians to draw spectators back to the league centes.

‘I think it is a laudable idea to involve musicians in the GFA’s attempt to get back spectators to the various stadia, because people tend to follow celebrities to wherever they go.

‘I remember people were not patronizing the national day cleanup exercise, but there turn up was massive when we the VVIP got involved in Tamale and that helped to whip up enthusiasm.

‘We will just share the various league centres among ourselves with maybe Samini going to Wa, Shatta Wale to Accra, VVIP to a different venue, etc,’ he told Hot FM.

The GPL was tentatively fixed to start on 20 December, but it stands the danger of being delayed due to various legal cases.
