No qualms: I have nothing personal against Kwarasey – Avram Grant

Avram Grant has said that he has no personal qualms with Portland Timbers goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey.

The former Chelsea boss has been unsuccessful in his pursuit of the ex-Stromgodset shot stopper to return to guard the Black Stars post.

In recent times, Adam Kwarasey appeared to prefer club commitment over country when he asked to be excused from Black Stars friendly match against Canada.

His decision seems to have not gone down well with the Israeli, but he insists he has no vendetta with him.

Avram Grant says he consider three criteria when inviting players for national assignments.

‘I don’t have any personal issue with anybody in the Black Stars,’ Avram Grant said on Monday afternoon when he met the press in his one year anniversary as Ghana coach.

‘For me I work for the team. I have no personal issues with Kwarasey but I pick players based on quality, dedication and patriotism.

‘There are three criteria I use to select players, first is quality, second is personality and third is the commitment to the national team is the most important.’

When quizzed whether he has officially invited Adam Kwarasey for national assignment since he took over the Black Stars, Avram Grant declined to answer.
