GBC boss is AUB president

The Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Major Albert Don-Chebe (Rtd), has been appointed to head the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB).

He was given the nod on November 27, 2015, after an election held at the 9th Annual General Meeting of the AUB at Abuja in Nigeria.

Major Don-Chebe will succeed Mr Tewfik Khelladi and will see to the administration of the AUB. Mr Tewfik Khelladi, who is Director-General of the Algerian Broadcasting Corporation, has been president of AUB for the past four years.

The AUB is a professional body composed of the national radio and television organisations of African states with its headquarters in Senegal and affiliated to the African Union.

It has a membership of 48 national broadcasting entities, with 15 private broadcasting companies as associate members.
