The full-back reveals the team have fallen in love with the new Japanese coach amid criticisms from local fans of his appointment

Hearts of Oak defender Joseph Owusu Bempah says they are enjoying the methods of under-fire new Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

The 46-year-old tactician, who was named Hearts boss in October, has seen his appointment questioned by many for his lack of experience at the top level.

“To me he [Kenichi] is good because the training routine he has been giving us is really good,” Bempah said in an interview.

“So far, we have been enjoying him. We are experiencing new training techniques.

“My colleagues and I are talking about the training. It is a new thing all together [and] we are enjoying it. I think he will bring good things this [coming] season.”

The Phobians finished 13th at the end of the 2014-15 Ghana Premier League after several weeks in the relegation zone.

“We are trying to make sure we pass through our fitness level and go to our ball work,” Bempah added.

“We are ensuring we get to our maximum level ahead of next season.”

With the new league season expected to kick off in December, Hearts have also appointed former Ghana winger Yaw Preko, as well as Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer NassamYakubu to strengthened their technical team.
