The President of the Ghana Cycling Federation Mohammed Shanoon believes Samuel Anim deserves a state burial as he died while on national duty.

Anim met his untimely death after being involved in a crash with a motorbike while training in the Aburi mountains last weekend.

He was training in preparation to lead the Ghanaian cycling team to the 2015 All Africa Games.

Deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah has already visited the bereaved family to assure them of government’s support.

But President of the GCF Mohammed Shanoon believes a state burial will be a befitting send off for the deceased.

“It is not for me to decide but I think he deserves it,” he said.

“But to be fair, the Ministry has been in touch, the National Sports Authority have been in touch and they have pledged their support.”
