The General Secretary of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), James Aboagye, has denied ever saying hilarious Kumawood actor, Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, has gone past his prime.

Aboagye’s rebuttal to a newspaper publication became necessary after Agya Koo expressed his disgust at the supposed comments.

In an interview with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa E-Voice Saturday, Aboagye said:

“They have put words in my mouth; I never said Agya Koo should stop bragging. I never said he’s gone past his prime. I was asked by the interviewer that Agya Koo has said some producers and directors intended to sabotage his career, and I told the interviewer, there is no way producers and directors will plan to sabotage someone from the industry.

“Agya Koo has been doing this for more than 10 years; he has resurrected again so he should debunk those rumours.”

James added that it’s usual for a creative person to take a dip in form such as the long hiatus Agya Koo suffered, insisting “It’s a natural phenomenon that anything that has the tendency to rise has the potential to fall.”
