Jordan Ayew is finally expected to complete his Aston Villa move today.
The French press are reporting that the Ghanaian striker, 23, has passed a medical and will put pen to paper on a five-year deal having agreed personal terms.
It is thought the deal will be worth €13m.
He will join on a five-year deal, according to the French press.
The third son of Ghana legend, Abedi Pele travelled to England at the weekend for a medical and to discuss his personal terms.
Ayew, who scored 13 goals to help keep Lorient in the French top flight last season, is relishing the chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
After negotiations between the clubs and the player and his representatives a deal was struck last night.
Ayew had criticised Lorient for pricing him out of a move, while vice chairman Alex Hayes reminded him he was still under contract.
Last season’s top scorer Christian Benteke left Villa to join Liverpool for £32.5 million last week and manager Tim Sherwood is still in the market for another striker, along with Ayew.
