Koforidua, July 26, GNA – Two municipal chief executives (MCEs) in the Eastern Region who have completed their first four- year term of office , have handed over, the administration of their assemblies to the Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Bosiako Sekyere.
They Mr George Akpalu of West Akyem and Mr Mark Amoako-Dompreh of Nsawam-Adoagyiri municipalities.
The Regional Minister congratulated the two MCEs for their distinguished services to the assemblies and the nation at large.
He said, ending their term of office does not mean their work has come to an end and observed that , they are a resource, which would be tapped by the government and the ruling National Democratic Congress.
Mr Antwi-Boasiako advised them to remain calm and wait for the President’s next decision on them since he is the only person with the prerogative to hire and fire MCEs. GNA
