The Media and Technology Centre of Trans Africa College, TAC, has organized a special weekend professional seminar for multimedia and creative individuals to highlight on some of the new technological strategies in the media today.
The objectives of the seminar was to build the capacity of current the media practitioners in todays multimedia and also unveil Trans Africa College’s new multi-million dollar Beach Front Takoradi Campus.
The seminar, dubbed, “Gathering of Media Professionals”, (GMP), took place at the Grand Favor Hotel behind Akromah Plaza in Takoradi with about two hundred participants drawn from Accra, Tema, Sekondi-Takoradi and its environs in attendance.
A speech delivered by industry specialists Dr. Eben Bright Wuaku from the U.S.A and Dr. Kuku Biney from the United Kingdom focused on the following topics: Current Production and Management Techniques, Strategic Media Marketing, Film /TV / Radio Production, Broadcasting Business Solutions, Digital Broadcasting Platforms, Social Media Strategies, Relationship Marketing and New Media Technologies.
The Rector of Takoradi Polytechnic Rev. Professor Nyarko speaking at the ceremony advised the youth to take up the many opportunities education offers them in order to transform their lives through skills acquisition and build careers that could be matched by individuals from any part of the world.
He said Trans Africa College has defined the new era of education where creative thinking and innovation are infused in the curricular to provide students with the required skills that are market driven.
The Director of Trans Africa College TAC, Mr. Samuel Segbefia on his part spoke about the successes the College had chalked since it was set up in 2003. He outlined the future plans of the College and admonished the people of Takoradi to see Trans Africa College’s Ultra-Modern Takoradi Campus as their own.
