Nathaniel Asamoah StrikerAsamoah has been inconsistent in this second round

He has not scored since June 21.

But somehow, no one has been able to overtake Nathaniel Asamoah, the leading scorer in the First Capital Plus Premier League.

Now he exclusively tells Joy Sports that he will not be disappointed if he is unable to win the top scorers award when the season ends.

“I’m taking game after game and the most important thing for every player is to improve game after game and also when you fall how quick you can rise again,” he notes.

With just eight matches to end the season, the Medeama striker has scored 13 goals, with his closest contender – Yakubu Mohammed of AshGold – having 11.

Asamoah’s performance in the second round has not been too good – he’s bagged just two in seven games.

“The second round of the league has not been that smooth for me but I will motivate myself and at the end of the season something good can come,” the former Kotoko man hopes.

“But I won’t be disappointed if I’m unable to win the top scorer award because my form in the second round has not been the same. But hopefully we still have some more matches to play so I will work on that and fight for myself and the club.”

Nathaniel will look at Medeama’s final eight league games and have some hope: Bechem (home), Olympics (away), Chelsea (a), WAFA (h), AshGold (a), Hearts (h), Wa All Stars (a), Inter Allies (h).
