Lancaster University Ghana (LUG) has signed a partnership agreement with Girls Education Initiative Ghana (GEIG) to host their 2nd vacation class during the summer term at the LUG campus, an activity of the GEIG Learns Academic Support program.
The program aims at providing academic support for girls, including applicants with special needs, so they can access higher education and professional opportunities. It also aims at transforming the lives of young women in Ghana, poverty reduction and improving the overall development of the country by offering higher education and professional opportunities to an untapped source of talent.
Participants will have access to LUG’s faculty, volunteers, state-of-the-art classrooms, IT Lab and library as part of the partnership. University accommodation and transportation will also be made available for the girls and volunteers during their 3 week vacation classes. Most importantly, LUG faculty will teach participants foundation and presentation skills courses.
