Assembly staff urged to be politically neutral

Ave-Dakpa, July 22, GNA – Mr James Gunu, Akatsi-North District Chief Executive (DCE), has cautioned local government staff of the Assembly against partisan tendencies, to avoid damaging the welfare and development of the people on the altar of politics.

‘A lot is expected of you under the transformational agenda of government, and our young district and we cannot falter,’ he stated.

Mr Gunu was addressing 70 staff members of the Assembly at a two-day capacity enhancement workshop organized for them at Ave-Dakpa.

The DCE commended the staff for their commitment and loyalty to duty, noting that their dedication had brought a lot of achievements to the Assembly.

‘Some of you even work at weekends and odd hours, to help achieve target amidst the power challenges, and I assure you the Assembly will be rewarding every hard work at the end of the year,’ he said.

Topics treated included performance management systems; conditions of service, code of conduct and service delivery standards under the local government protocols.

The facilitators were from the Tema-based Global Standards Consulting Firm, specialized in governance and management standards and skills.
