800 boxes of ammunition seized in OA bus

The Ghana Police Service has intercepted about 800 boxes of ammunition being transported from Accra to Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region.

The ammunition were packed in the luggage compartment of an OA bus and was intercepted upon a tip-off, according to the Greater Accra regional Police command.

The police said three people including the driver of the bus have been arrested in connection with the case.

Upon interrogation the driver said he did not know the ammunition was part of the luggage.

The police said one Alhaji in the Brong Ahafo region has been linked with the ammunition and is being investigated.
