Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that a 13-year-old class four pupil of the Bethel Preparatory School in Somanya, the municipal capital of Yilo Krobo in the Eastern Region, has committed suicide.
The lifeless body of the deceased has been deposited at the Atua Government Hospital awaiting autopsy, while the police are investigating the circumstances that led to the little boy’s death.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that the minor was found hanging on the second floor of the school building Sunday evening.
Sources at the school said the deceased did not show any sign of depression or worry prior to the act.
The sources, however, expressed concern about the theft of his pocket money sent by his father some days earlier.
Confirming the incident to DAILY GUIDE, the Somanya Police Commander, DSP Albert Deletsa, said the kid was early Sunday morning seen playing with his mates at the boarding house, adding that his outfit had launched investigations into the matter.
