Winning school for the maiden edition of the National Finals of the MILO Under 13 Champions League which ended last Saturday, Bepong Methodist Primary School, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the top Directors of Nestle Ghana Limited to officially present trophies won to the management being Title Sponsor of the competition.

It would be recalled that Bepong Methodist School based in the Eastern Region defeated Camboni R/CPrimary from the Volta region 2-0 to win the championship while they walked away with a cool GHC10,000 cedis cash.

The Milo Africa Championship is an-annual U-13 soccer fiesta which is aimed at unearthing grass root talents and creating the platform for competitive sport among school children across the country.

The Winning school, was accompanied by the Headmistress, School Coaches and teachers.

They were welcomed by Managing Director for Nestlé Ghana, Freda Y. Duplan and her management team and Event Management company EXP, led by Elloeny Amande..

The Milo Champions League, organized in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and endorsed by the Ghana Football Association, brings together schools from across the country to participate in the competition.

This year, an estimated number of 36,000 kids from about 2,000 schools across the country participated in the maiden edition of the tournament. Prior to the finals, four zonal qualifiers were held for all ten regions of Ghana. The winning teams from the zonal matches were trained by seasoned veteran and current footballers and coaches.

Enerst Awuah from the winning school Bepong Methodist Primary won the golden ball award with Ganihu Fuseini from Yawmetwa and Daniel Owusu from Camboni winning the Silver and bronze balls respectively.

Safianu Tahiru of Kintampo and Emmanuel Robertson also won the golden boot and golden gloves respectively. All award winners went home with cash prizes and trophies. The Northern region was also awarded the Fair Play award.
