This year happens to be a fruitful one for Ghana,s reggae/dancehall versatile and artistic musician Stonebwoy known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla. He was awarded the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Award’s Artiste of The Year, his “Baafira” hit single which featured Sarkodie was also adjuged the reggae/dancehall Song of The Year in addition to winning Reggae /dancehall Artiste of the year.
Again, winning the Best International Act, Africa category for this year,s BET Award and bagging for four grand international nominations within a squat period of six months which again never halted but recently grabbed another nomination for Best Male Musician for City People Entertainment Award is just a simplified justification of the end result of being conscientious , determined and wholehearted.
Among these International nominations is the MTV Africa Music Awards as he grabbed nomination for the Best New Act category. Another category also saw Ghana,s very own Sarkodie nominated for the Best Male Category while Ghanaian Uk based Fuse ODG also secured a nomination in Best Pop and Alternative category when nominations were unveiled in South Africa on Thursday 11th May, 2015.
Ghana’s Stonebwoy is in a grueling competition with Anna Joyce ofAngola, Cassper Nyovest of South Africa, Duncan from South Africa), andNigeria’s Patoranking in his assemblage.
Stonebwoy from Ghana is among the performers line-up for this year’s 5th edition of MAMA as he blesses the same stage with sensational liveperformer and R&B star NE-YO which will impressively complement theAfrican performers show with their all round style.
Ghana and the worldhas witnessed a couple of performances from this great talent and inbrief one will say he is a master of the stage due to his ability ofexhilarating and performing to the gratification of his patrons oraudience. Other African acts including Nigeria’s diva Yemi Alade is wholost to Stonebwoy in the recent held BET Awards and others are also setto be performing at the grand event as revealed by organisers.
Celebrating the evolution of African musicians by recognising contemporary artists and veterans across a range of music and lifestyle categories, which we have our veteran musician Samini nominated, the MTV Africa Music Awards KwaZulu-Natal 2015 will broadcast live across Africa on MTV Base (DStv channel 322), MTV (DStv channel 130) and BET (DStv channel 129) from Durban ,South Africa on Saturday July 18, 2015 at 9:00PM and will be transmitted worldwide on partner stations and content platforms including BET International from 18th July.
In addition, a special MAMA-themed edition of MTV’s acclaimed World Stage franchise will air globally on MTV channels around the world on 27 August 2015.
