Kinglsey Owusu Achau, President of Premier League side, Bechem United Football Club has said his outfit is now shifting focus to youth development despite their participation in the top flight league.

“We have decided to emphasize on youth development since it is the future of our club and Ghana football. We want to unearth the next Abedi Peles, Tony Yeboahs, Asamoah Gyans and the likes”, he told the GNA Sports.

He said the club has therefore, acquired the services of a Swedish coach, Erol Bekir to supervise their youth development agenda.

“We know there are many 16 to 19 year old footballers in the country who do not have the opportunity to develop their talent. We will go around the country, pick these amazing talents and hand them over to our new youth development coach to groom them into future superstars.”

Owusu Achau however, noted that, the team will also ensure their survival in the Premiership since it will serve as the platform for marketing the players that have been unearthed.

He said the 41-year old UEFA Pro-license coach, will concentrate on youth development and will only advise the technical direction of the club during Premier League matches.

Bechem United is currently occupying 11th position on the First Capital Plus Premier League.
