Atletico Madrid have been invited to play in Ghana next month, officials of the Spanish top-flight club have confirmed.
Accroding to Marca, the biggest sports newspaper in Spain, Atlético have received an offer to play a friendly game in Ghana on 8th August.
The match has been scheduled for Accra with top players like ex-Chelsea star Fernando Torres in the team.
The organisers of the match are seeking to line up Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko for the match.
Financially, it is a very attractive offer and interesting as well because of the game’s location.
The decision is in the hands of the Atlético board, in conjunction with the coaching team, headed by Diego Simeone.
It should be remembered that Atlético de Madrid’s first team visit to Asia will come to an end on 4th August.
If the board agrees to this game, then there will be the question of whether Atlético fly direct from China to Ghana, or return first to Spain and then set off again.
