LANCE CORPORAL Emmanuel Nyame, 37, a police officer stationed at Aburi, has been brutally assaulted by a certain Fred Akuffo Boafo, aged 35, on suspicions of being in an amorous relationship with his wife, Esther Bram.
The assault which has left the police officer with major head injuries and an almost fallen jaw comes at the heels of rumours of infidelity on the part of Akuffo’s wife who is now on the run.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2015, suspect Akuffo Boafo, who is also resident in Aburi, is said to have caught the police officer with his wife, Esther Bram, at the premises of the Aburi Presbyterian Primary School in a tÃ©te-Ã -tÃªte.
According to sources, on that fateful day at about 10:15 pm, the suspect spotted the two alleged lovebirds in the dark and without any provocation; the suspect pounced on the victim and attacked him with a huge stone.
Akuffo is said to have hit the police officer’s head with the stone which left him bleeding profusely and almost ripped off his jaw.
Both the suspect and his wife fled after the alleged assault on the policeman.
Passers-by rushed the police officer to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital.
He has since been treated and referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for a head scan and further treatment.
As at press time, information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicate that the suspect has been smoked out of his hide out, but is yet to give his statement to the police.
Deputy Regional Police Commander, ACP James Azuma Abass Abaah, who confirmed the incident, said the police are yet to investigate the matter.
