Kumasi, July 9, GNA – The United Progressive Party (UPP) will on July 18, organize its maiden National Delegates’ Congress in Kumasi.
The Congress, to be held at the Golden Tulip, Kumasi City, will among other things, elect the party’s flag-bearer and national executive members to lead it into the 2016 general elections.
Mr Razak Kojo Opoku, General Secretary of the party told the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi that plans were far advanced fo r a successful congress.
He said the party had already elected its regional and constituency executives, and was expecting about 1,500 delegates to attend the National Congress.
The theme for the Congress is: ‘New Route Into Victory 2016.’
The UPP, the latest party in Ghana, received its final certificate from the Electoral Commission on May 27.
