Ghana is now in the top 30 of the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday. The Black Stars are now ranked 25th on the global ladder of footballing nations in the July rankings.

Ghana recently beat Mauritius 7-1 in the first round of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers in Accra to gain 27 more points to the 800 it already has.

In terms of continental ranking, Ghana is now 3rd behind Cote d’Ivoire (who are 2nd with 917 points) and Algeria in first place with 941 points.

Tunisia (with 758 points) is fourth and Senegal (with 715 points) is fifth.

On the global level, Argentina is the new number one after knocking Germany off the top. The South Americans were in the final of the Copa America but lost to Chile 4-1 on penalties.

Despite that, they still managed to get to the peak of the rankings with 1473 points while defending World Cup champions Germany have 1411 points.

Belgium (1244 points), Colombia (1217 points) and Netherlands (1204 points) close out the top five.

Brazil, Portugal, Romania, England, Wales round up the top 10.
