Christian Atsu has tipped his international teammate Andre Ayew to star in the Premier League with Swansea City.

Dede came to the end of his Olympique de Marseille at the end of June, and he will represent the Swans in the EPL next season after agreeing terms with Garry Monk’s side.

Atsu is convinced that his compatriot will hit the ground running at the Liberty Stadium.

“Dede is a great player of Ghana and also for Marseille and with this new challenge in his life and the way I see Dede I believe strongly that he will be a great player in Swansea,” Atsu began, speaking to Accra-based Starr FM, “because he has the desire and is always determined to win.

“Though this season is a new season for him, I know that it will be a great season for him,”

The attacking midfielder was linked to several of Europe’s major sides before confirming he would be joining the Welsh outfit. The likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, AS Roma, as well as Milan duo Inter and AC had all been linked to the forward, who eventually opted to throw his hat into the ring with the Swans.

Ayew managed 10 goals and three assists in 28 appearances for OM last term, while he also starred for the Black Stars at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

There is a great optimism among Swans fans that Dede will be a success at the club—with many sharing Atsu’s hope for the coming year.

A recent poll on a club fansite suggested that almost 70 percent of respondents tipped Ayew to be the biggest success of all of the club’s summer signings so far.

Atsu will also be hoping for a big campaign; the winger struggled on loan at Everton last season, and will be desperate to make a major impression at his new club Bournemouth.

The newly-promoted side have taken the wideman on a season-long deal from Chelsea, and will be looking to him to help the team in their inevitable fight against relegation.
