ICODEHS Supports Flood Victims…More Aid To Arrive In Ghana Soon

The Islamic Council for Development and Humanitarian Services (ICODEHS) as part of its responsibility has supported thousands of the flood victims in Accra.

ICODEHS, a Ghanaian Muslim NGO has presented items including Rice, Oil, mattresses, soap, footwear etc wealth forty thousand Ghana cedis to the victims of flood disaster in Nima, Mamobi, Sabon Zongo all in Accra.

Addressing the media, the Executive Chairman, of ICODEHS Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim expressed the heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families and called for holistic approach to managing flood in Accra . Accra, he said being low-lying areas are subject to severe perennial flooding, it is generally attributed to inadequate sized culverts, and blockage of the drains by accumulated silt.

He thinks enough drainage system needs to be constructed.

Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim announced that, ICODEHS and its foreign partners will bring into the country more aid to support the flood victims

He also prays for speedy recovery of those still recovering while advising Ghanaians to support in distilling gutters and manage waste wisely so that it will not affect the passage of the water when its rains.

His Eminence the National Chief Imam Dr Sheikh Nuhu Osman Sharubutu who presented the items on behalf of ICODEHS prayed for the dead and wish those at the hospital speedy recovery.

Beneficiaries were all praised for the ICODEHS particularly the Executive Chairman Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim for his support and kind gesture.

ICODEHS which was established in late 80’s has since its foundation, has established hundreds of schools, thousands of mosques, wells and has supported many orphans across the country.
