Accra, July 6, GNA – The Movement for Namoale, a political group in support of the re-election of Nii Amasah Namoale, Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon, for 2016, has been launched in Accra.

The Movement said it aims to create a peaceful atmosphere for the legislator, work with him in seeking the interests of the constituents, and protect him from distractions to ensure a smooth sail in the 2016 parliamentary elections.

‘We members of this great Movement are assuring our Member of Parliament that we will work assiduously to increase his votes in the 2016 General Election,’ Mr Joseph Baba Yakubu, Spokesperson for the Movement and the Deputy Youth Organiser for the La Dadekotopon Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said at the launching in Accra.

Mr Yakubu said the formation of the Movement for Namoale was taken from Article Two, Clause Two of the NDC Constitution, which stresses unity, stability and development.

‘This is our biggest and greatest achievement. The Movement for Namoale can confidently say that Nii Amasah Namoale has lived up to the expectation of Dadekotoponsonians, and he has lived the letter and spirit of the above quoted article of the party’s constitution.

‘More importantly he has worked so much for La without any discrimination to all, ‘Mr Yakubu said.

He said the catchphrase and the slogan for the Movement is ‘SAY Namoale and the response is Yes Namoale, Naa Namoale, Naa Noyaa ye La.’

Mr Yakubu said the formation of the Movement started some eight months ago by a few friends of the MP, explaining that ‘with their good organisational skills they were able to link up party and non-party members in the 10 electoral areas of the Constituency.

‘Opinions were sought for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in 2016, and over 90 per cent of the people in the 10 electoral areas said they need no other person that Honourable Nii Namoale.’

Nii Namoale thanked the Movement for coming out with a strategy to revive activities of the party and make the party more visible in the Constituency.

He assured members that he has accepted to be the life patron on the Movement, and urged them to tell the ‘good story’ of the party as well as his achievement in the area of infrastructure and human resource development in the constituency.
