Hon Alex Segbefia, Rev. Fred Deegbe and Mrs Yawa Hansen-Quao set to Transform Minds For Global Impact

Minister of Health, Hon Alex Segbefia, Chairman of the board of the Ghana Baptist Convention Rev. Dr. Fred Deegbe and C.E.O of Leading Ladies Network, and Mrs. Yawa Hansen-Quao are set to lead the discussion on the theme: “Transforming Minds For Global Impact.”

This will be during a workshop organized by A-C Kobak Multimedia for tertiary students and graduates come this Friday and Saturday, 10th and 11th July, 2015.

Organizers of 180 Degree Turn, A-C Kobak Multimedia, are optimistic that, this year’s two-day learning workshop will provide job opportunities for participants and equip many with knowledge and skills to start their own businesses.

In an interview with Felix Mensah, creative director of Kobak Multimedia, he gave said that unemployment in Ghana is really alarming in the country. Currently there are over 200,000 unemployed graduates in Ghana. In addition to that, over 71,000 will this year be pushed into the job market from both private and public tertiary institutions.

Ms. Bridgette Duah, a co-director of the company also stated that even though the company was young, its main initiative, 180 Degree Turn, was a great platform aimed empowering young graduates and helping many invest positively in the aspirations for their lives.

She noted that, this year, the two day workshop was on the theme, “Transforming Minds for Global Impact”, underscoring the need for young people, especially, graduates to be oriented appropriately to face the real world and its challenges.

According to Ms. Duah, many young people in the county came out of school wondering which directions to take with their lives and in the face of graduate unemployment, the challenge was very tough.

She said, 180 Degree Turn, was the perfect workshop for all young people who were ready to learn about writing effective and efficient Curriculum Vitae (CV), personal and corporate branding, writing business proposals and basic ideas needed to start a business.

Mr. Felix Mensah said, The 180 Degree Turn, project would also give young people an opportunity to be taught, nurtured and interact with godly men and seasoned business leaders in the country.

He said, renowned personalities like the former General Secretary of the Christian Council, Rev. Dr. Fred Deegbe, the Minister of Health, Hon. Alex Segbefia and the Chief Executive Officer of Leading Ladies Network, Mrs. Yawa Hanson-Quao would lead discussions at this year’s workshop.

He therefore called on all young people in the capital to be at the Ghana National Association of Teachers Hall (GNAT Hall) on the 10th and 11th of July, at 10 am each day, to be part of the programme.
