All is set for the much awaited National Spiritual Congress of the Catholic Organisation for Social and Religious Advancement (COSRA).
The congress is scheduled from the 16th -19th July, 2015 at the Mensah Sarbah Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon,Accra-Ghana. This year’s spiritual congress coincides with the 45th anniversary of COSRAand it is on the theme“Be Alert, Stand Firm in the Faith, be Brave and Strong’’ 1 Corinthians 16: 13.
The National President of COSRA, Mr Joseph Skuggen said the Spiritual Congress would afford members the opportunity to have personal encounter with their maker through fasting and prayer.According to him,experienced and knowledgeable priests have been engaged to give talks relating to the theme of the congress and lead various sessions of the program in order to ensure that participants get the necessary impact to enhance their spiritual lives.Some notable Gospel Artists are also expected to minister in songs to the congregants at the event.
Mr Skuggen said the gathering would also afford leaders the opportunity to restrategize for the growth of the group.He challenged all COSRA members to endeavor to take active participation in all activities lined up for the event to enable them derive its maximum benefit.
The First Lady of Ghana, Mrs Lordina Mahama is expected to be the special guest of honor at the opening ceremony of the congress on Friday, 17th July, 2015 at the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Legon.
The metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle would be the main celebrant.
About a thousand participants from all the dioceses in Ghana are expected to attend the 2015 COSRA National Spiritual Congress.
COSRA was founded in 1969 by Monsignor Jonathan Ayikai Ankrah at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Accra and became fully functional in 1970.
The group currently has a total youthful membership of three thousand (3,000) who are 18 years and above. Its slogan is Revolution! Action in Christ!!.
