He was rushed to the Tema General Hospital before he was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra where he passed away shortly on admission.

His remains were conveyed to the General Hospital morgue before he was buried at the Community 9 cemetery in Tema, according to Islamic rites.

The incident led to irate youth numbering about 200, to mass up at the Ashaiman District Police Station with the intention of forcibly bringing out from the police cells the suspect for instant justice.

A timely intervention by the Rapid Deployment Force from the Tema Regional Police Command with their counterpart at Ashaiman calmed down matters.
