The elephant will get back to the bush in 2016 if..-Lecturer

Political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr.Samuel Adu Gyamfi has noted that the main opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) is likely to remain in opposition after the 2016 general polls if it refuses to stay firm on its grounds.

According to him opposition parties have the mandate to ensure that the government in power is competent and accountable in handling the various sectors of the economy.

He noted ‘‘the NPP was a vociferous opposition during the era of the late Prof. Albert Adu Boahen’’.

Although there were internal wranglings, the NPP in Adu Boahen’s era united as an opposition party against the NDC but such seem to be lost currently in the NPP.

Dr Samuel Adu Gyamfi said this during an interview with Sir Richmond Antwi Boasiako on Royal Fm’s Morning Show.

He stated that it’s time the NPP settled its internal wranglings.
